IVQ-3005

The IVQ-3005 Radar sensor from InnoSenT provides an additional receiving antenna as well as an additional set of receiving channels (in total 4). This enables the customer to extract the angle to the detected object. This is called mono pulse approach.

The integrated VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) supports CW (continuous wave), FSK (frequency shift keying) and FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) mode. It is possible to switch between those modes in order to use the best for each use case. The maximum output of the device is given when operating the unit in FMCW mode. This provides information on: distance, velocity and angle of arrival of moving and stationary objects. Customers use that specific product within applications that require a discrimination of objects via angle (e.g. traffic monitoring, counting and classifying cars per lane on a motorway with a single device). InnoSenT uses the latest MMIC technology for maximum sensitivity to ensure the best performance within the desired application. The K-Band sensor comes with a programmable IF-Amplifier and an integrated RF Preamplifier in order to improve the signal-to-noise ratio.

The IVQ-3005 typically reaches a range up to 300m (depending on the RCS). Typical use cases of the radar are long range traffic applications like section control, traffic monitoring, statistics and speed enforcement. With the additional angle information, the product offers a better object separation, which makes it suitable for multi-lane vehicle detection.
