The SMR-314 is a K-Band based VCO sensor. The tiny device will be delivered directly on tape for mounting within a standard SMT. Due to the VCO capability, the sensor is also suitable for applications in which frequency modulation is necessary (e.g. distance measurement). The radar sensor has a low duty-cycle pulse mode to fit in low-power applications. The antenna design of the SMR-334 has a narrow field of view.
The SMR-334 is a 24GHz radar front end for the detection of moving objects. The VCO transceiver is equipped with a prescaler for easy frequency control. By using FMCW modulation, the sensor delivers extended object information like speed, direction as well as distance. It also recognises the presence of stationary objects. Typical application fields are home & building automation or security technology.
The InnoSenT SMR-Series offers four product variants.
The SMR-334 and -314 are FMCW radar modules and are capable of detecting not only moving, but also stationary objects. Therefore, these products capture more object information than the SMR-333 and -313 which are CW radar variants. The SMR-334 and -314 differs in their antenna pattern by the same interface. The SMR series does not include signal processing.
